President Danny O’Quinn
with the future fourth generation of Thompson and
Little, Inc. |
In 1945, Thompson and Little, Inc. started by selling supplies
only. Not many years later the government began to push
upgrades of school kitchens and Thompson and Little decided
to focus there. Lucille and Wilbur O’Quinn worked
vigorously to keep the local business and grow it to what
it is today.
Sales began to pick up in the late sixties. With his experience
as a welder in World War II and the time he spent at Low
Temp Fabrication, Wilbur opened a metal shop division.
At the same time his son, Danny, came back from college
and began working in sales. Danny began to emphasize outside
sales and was awarded their first major contract project.
By 1980, Wilbur had stepped down as President and turned
the company over to his son. Thompson & Little continued
to expand and began to gain recognition as a leader in
the foodservice industry. In 1985, Thompson and Little
of Wilmington was opened and established. Five years later,
Thompson and Little was accepted as a dealer into SEFA
(Supplies and Equipment Foodservice Alliance.) SEFA is
one of the industry’s premier buying groups, and
together the two companies make a great team.

Since their acceptance into SEFA, Thompson and Little,
Inc. has grown tremendously and continues to do so. We
are now a third generation company. Danny’s children,
Drew O’Quinn and Heather Herring have come back from
college and taken the business by storm. A good number
of our employees have been with the company for over twenty
years and have the experience and expertise to solve any
of your problems.
Serving you for over 65 years, Thompson and Little continues
to be the premier dealer for foodservice equipment and
supplies in the Southeast. We have prided ourselves on
customer satisfaction in the past, and the future will
be no different. We are excited about the challenges and
changes that this industry brings, and we will do our best
to meet your needs head on.
